Protests and Prayers

This past Saturday a team left to serve in Nicaragua.  They had safe travels and have already seen the Lord work in mighty ways.  The first day the team was able to travel out to a village and lead a worship service for children.  They sang songs and had time to share some testimonies in the village. Through out each day they have also been able to participate in helping repair the buildings in these areas. More recently the team has  traveled out to an orphanage to lead worship and share Bible lessons.  The team has enjoyed all these experiences but there is one moment that has stuck out for them.

One day while travelling out to the Orphanage the traffic kept getting thicker and thicker. The team soon came to realize that traffic was being held up by a protest in the street.  The locals assured the team that these were normal but may cause some delay in traffic.  The team eventually arrived safely at the Orphanage.  After a great day with the children they had to travel back to the city they were staying in.  Once again the traffic was moving very slow and eventually they were stuck.  The hours began to pass and the team realized they were going to be stuck for awhile.  So they began to pray that they would not waste the time given to them but use it wisely.  They began to sense that someone next to them needed to hear about Christ.  Soon they struck up a conversation with a man in a vehicle close by.  Through the team and their translators they were able to share the gospel and the man prayed to receive Christ!  After this great encounter traffic started flowing and they were able to return to the city they are staying in.

Praise the Lord that many are hearing the gospel and the team was obedient in sharing with this man.  Thank you for your support and prayers.  Please continue to pray for this man to continue to grow and become a disciple for Christ.  Pray for the team and the rest of the week.  Pray that the children would be receptive to the Bible lessons and the team would be given endurance to finish strong!

Opportunities Await In Cincinnati

The Cincinnati area has been targeted by the North American Mission Board as an area in desperate need of the gospel.  Many Churches in Tennesse have embraced this vision are learning how to be sources of  encouragement and learning about the opportunities for more churches to be planted in Cincinnati.  Thompson Station Church is excited about possible partnerships with church planters in this area.  To read specifically how TSC would like to be involved: click here:  (TSC is featured in Pages 7 and 12).
